Q11: In Korean and Japanese cuisines(food items) a lot of times the food is fermented e.g in Korea radish is mixed with sugar , salt and a few more halal ingredients and kept for a night or so in order to ferment.
Is it allowed to prepare a dish like that and eat food fermented in this way?

A: If the said food cause its consumer to be drunken then it is prohibited to consume otherwise it is permissible.

Q12: I'm working in a kitchen as a cook. I was wondering if it was bad for me to taste food while cooking. I mean is it harram for me to try food that is not halal?

A: You can taste the prohibited to consume food provided that you do not swallow it and must purify your mouth if the food was impure – Najis.

Q13: I have read in the Holy Quran that the food of the people of the book is Halal. I am living in a place where the majority of people (about 70 %) are Christians, is the meat in their shopping Halal or not? Also sometimes it is difficult to and expensive to for us to buy meat from Muslim Butchery and sometimes if we do not eat their food with meat, it create not a good feeling for those Christian people who live around us.

A: The imams of the Ahlulbyte has interpret the food that is mentioned in the verse: ”The food of those who have received the Scripture is lawful for you” to be “cereals” and similar food that do not require religious slaughtering. Meat is not included where it is unlawful to consume it unless some special conditions are met. One of them is mentioning the name of almighty Allah when slaughtering the animal. There is no doubt that the current meat in the western countries does not meet this condition.
The embarrassment that this rule cause when dealing with the non Muslims can not be an excuse to consume prohibited food and it can be avoided by explaining the reason in a calm and a nice way. .
