Ablution - Wudu (10):

Q1: I need to know how to perform wudu?

A: You start by washing the face from the upper parts of the forehead where the hair grow to the farthest end of the chin and its breadth is what covers between the thumb and the middle finger. The said area must be washed fully.
Then, wash the hands by starting with the right hand from the elbow to the tips of the fingers. Then wash the left hand the same way.
Then, wipe the head using the wetness of the hand. Then, wipe the feet starting by the right one then the left from the tip of the fingers to the upper joint. It is enough to wipe normally and not mandatory to cover the mentioned wiped area fully with wetness.

Q2: I have leather shoes. Now when I m at work, I have to do wudu for prayers in the sinks of the toilet area. I dislike to take my shoes off and do Wudu because I have a strong feeling of najasit on the ground there. I dont know which country the leather of the shoe is from nor if the animal was cut in the halal way. Am I allowed to perform Tayamum in regards to prayers or can I do wudu with my shoes on?

A: It is not lawful to perform Tayammum in this case as it is possible to perform the prayer in a different place even if you perform it towards the end of its allowed time.
The leather is considered impure – Najis if it was not from an Islamic country but if you were living in an Islamic country, then the leather is considered to be pure - Tahir.

Q8: A person who after urinating performs ablution. He then performs prayer. Within his prayer he feels as though a fluid has come out of his penis, there is uncertainty as to the actual type of fluid. What is the state of his prayers now, is it invalid?

A: If he did “Istibra” which is the process of ensuring that there is no urine left in the urethra or If he knew that the urethra had no urine left because of either staying sometime after urinating and before the purification or because of any other reason, then the prayer is valid and he should not pay attention to this doubt. If he did not perform the process of “Istibra” and he doubts whether the liquid was urine or not, then he should treat it as urine, consider the ablution and the prayer as void and purify the body and clothes that the said liquid contacted.
